2021 Schild Estate Cabernet Sauvignon - Barossa Valley SA
Deep, ruby, purple in colour. Dark plum, blackberry and mulberry fruit show early on the nose along with just a hint of aniseed. Once on the palate the same controlled primary plum and hedgerow fruit flavours reappear providing a touch of mid palate weight before being joined by fleeting glimpses of liquorice and menthol. A bright acid line and a fine, but ever-present tannin frame provides focus and a sense of tension to the wine especially in its youth. Will benefit from time in the cellar.
