2021 HOFSTATTER Steinbock Mosel Riesling - Trentino Alto adige
Steinbock Mosel Riesling is produced by Hofstatter, a winery located in the picturesque Dolomitic region of Alto Adige, bordering Austria. In March 2014, Martin Foradori Hofstätter seized the welcome opportunity to revitalize an historic winery on the Saar. The small winery grows top class Riesling on the, steep sites 'Bockstein' and 'Saarburger Kupp'. The Steinbock is an off-dry Riesling made possible by a late hand harvest of these amazing grapes. It exhibits tropical aromas of grapefruit and pineapple with hints of floral components reminiscent of elderflower and lilac. The palate has juicy fruit and a somewhat slight sweetness that it is never cloying. This wine pairs well with Asian cuisine, vegetarian dishes and fresh blue cheeses.
