2021 Etnella Kaos 5.0 Bianco Macerato - Etna Sicily
Etnella is a small-scale, natural winery based on Mount Etna in Sicily. Run soley by Davide Bentivegna.
Davide operates a multitude of different plots around the volcano at differing altitudes, up to 780m above sea level.
His red wines (especially Kaos Rosso 2020) are beautiful expressions of Nerello Mascalese, and personally we prefer these red wines to more famous big name producers in the region. His white wine, Kaos 5.0 is a brilliant Etna Bianco - fresh, minerally and vibrant.
White wine, but with a touch of skin contact made from a field blend mainly with Carricante, Cataratto, Minnella, Malvasia, Inzolia and Tiro. Grapes from vines of 30-120 years old.
This is VERY expressive in a good way - a perfect Etna Bianco, with no added sulphur.
